We have Indexed Rates tied to stock market performance at 12%.  With an Indexed Fixed Annuity, your annual interest depends on stock market performance.  However, if the markets decline you would just get very little or zero interest for the year.  You wouldn't lose any of your principle or interest already credited to you account.
